the player enters the story world as a “stone.” in the original narrative of the dream of the red chamber. the stone is a sentient stone that was abandoned by the goddess nüwa when she mended the heavens. the player-----that is---the stone enters the mortal realm after begging a daoist priest and buddhist monk to bring it to see the world. the stone has the power of influencing the life and decisions of those it possesses. in our game, the stone acts as the mentor of the characters. the flow of the story: the first choice for players is to choose whether or not to enter the world, the choices of “rushi” 入世 or “chushi" 出世 would be offered. this determines if you can successfully enter the game; and later influence which character will first pick you up. after successful attachment to him or her, the player then has the ability to choose different responses to different situations. every choice has an effect on the progression of the storyline, attaching to different characters would also result in a different storyline. according to choices made during the game, there are also different endings. the game may also end if the player makes decisions that lead to death or failure. the player has a chance to rewrite the storyline by their decisions in the game.
